Artist Bio

Giselle Tate is a self-taught, Brazilian-born artist who discovered her passion for abstract art during the pandemic. After a decade in the granite and marble export business and a brief chapter refinishing kitchen cabinets, she found herself captivated by the creative freedom of the canvas. Now based in Tampa, Florida, Giselle has expanded her artistic journey to include vibrant abstract paintings and custom neon and acrylic signs.

As an avid traveler, Giselle draws inspiration from the colors, energy, and textures she encounters around the world. Whether it’s the turquoise waters of Longboat Key or the dynamic vibe of a bustling city, her experiences infuse her work with a sense of joy and possibility. Her art celebrates life’s boldness, capturing the beauty of breaking free from fear and embracing new adventures.

Her preferred mediums—acrylics, spray paints, and oil pastels—allow her to create unexpected, free-flowing forms. While she sometimes experiments with neutral palettes, color—especially pink—always finds its way into her work, reflecting her belief that life should be lived boldly and vibrantly.

From playful patterns on canvas to glowing, custom-made neon and acrylic signs, Giselle’s creations bring energy and happiness into any space. Each piece invites others to embrace their unique journeys, turning everyday moments into something a little more extraordinary.

ARTIST STATEMENT

Life has a wild way of being totally unpredictable – one moment, everything's steady, and the next, everything shifts. For a long time, I let fear keep me stuck, but art became my way of breaking free. Each piece I create is about embracing those unexpected twists and turns, facing my fears, and learning as I go. I never really know where a painting will lead me; it’s like life itself, where one idea turns into another, and suddenly, you’re on a whole different path.

Colors are my go-to for capturing that feeling of unpredictability. While I might try to keep things neutral, a burst of pink almost always sneaks in – my little reminder that joy has a way of finding us, even when we’re not looking for it. It’s a touch of boldness that reminds me to keep moving forward, no matter how uncertain things might seem.

Through my art, I hope to share that same energy with you – a sense of freedom, courage, and the permission to let go. I want my pieces to remind you that it’s okay to trust the process, face your fears, and let your story unfold in its own colorful, unpredictable way!
